Not long ago, earlier in 2011, an attorney hired to look into the wrongdoing of Judge Facemire, Gerald B Hough and F John Oshoway, regarding a circuit court case, commented that…
“Truly to get to the heart of the matter; the community needs to become organized enough to file complaints against Colonel Pack of the State Police!”
We took this attorneys highly paid advice and we filed against Colonel Pack and we talked to local journalists so that his bad leadership of the State Police could be publicized!
The State Police have a system in place that protects public officials and their own officers – always giving the solution of civil action instead of criminal.
Free Press articles complained about the State Police not taking action against Public Officials and complained to EARL RAY the new Governor and he sent COL PACK Packing!
Many in the legal world are aghast at the record of cases that have been documented including that of Derek S Snavely who was a State Trooper that allegedly raped a woman during a stop for DUI, and was only released from the State Police and not charged. Snavely is now the Police Chief in Hinton, and I understand he is now suspected of another sexual crime involving a drug arrest and one of his confidential informants arranging the sexual encounter.
It was suggested we immediately request the governor become personally involved with replacing key staff members at the headquarters of the State Police and Col Pack should take the responsibility and step down. The recent illegal actions by the State Police locally – in covering for public officials and failing to take complaints and evidence that a crime did in fact occur -can no longer be tolerated.

At issue this week 21 July 2011 is the MISSING 1/6th of 155 acres of surface property in DEKALB that was hidden from the jury in the “Travesty of Justice” long running court case, and the same evidence was needed in Supreme Court, but Gerry Hough took an active part in covering the matter up along with Beverly Marks the former County Commission Clerk!
We talked to the JUDGE SPICER’S office this week, he is the judge that ordered the property sold, but the Gilmer County Clerk ignored the court order because of specific instructions from Timothy B Butcher.
“LOIS the judges secretary instructed me to file charges in West Virginia against Marks!”
“I laughed until tears were rolling down my face and the judges secretary took great offense to this until I explained while barely able to contain myself that..”
“I tried filing criminal charges!”
I finally was able to explain the fact that … SHERIFF MICKEY METZ was crooked as fuck and refused to accept a criminal complaint, and when we took the matter to the State Police, they filed a criminal complaint against us with the FBI!

Finally, out of state law enforcement that is not crooked, but rather legitimate studied the matter and debated the issue with the FBI in our behalf, and then the US Attorney in Clarksburg was contacted, and they did back us up that we did indeed expose some corruption in Gilmer County and had broken no state or federal laws.
These facts are almost unbelievable, but finally we are getting some support from people that have reviewed and studied the case in detail and have been surprised themselves to find the corruption in Gilmer County, West Virginia is OUT OF CONTROL!!

Regarding merely one example of selective application of the law, everyone knows about the raucous party along Route 33 in late Janurary. Allegedly, the GCHS coach had sex with a young female ball player, and another man raped an innocent girl. What allegedly occurred that night is common knowledge, but Hough, Metz, the magistrates, and the State Police know about it without any indication that justice will be served.
All of these public officials need to be replaced for they certainly DO NOT have the good of the common citizen or the community in mind! These fake public officials are elite minions and we are sick of it! And further, are not willing to put up with it anymore!
In law abiding parts of America the adult in charge of the house where the party allegedly occurred would have been charged with contributing to the delinquency of minors, and the principal and the board of education would have acted to impose swift justice.
That is not how wrong-doing is dealt with in Gilmer. Our officials are paralyzed when they hear certain surnames to stampede them into rendering special treatment including letting offenders off who possess drugs, and are involved with DUI or other forms of misconduct as offspring of the feared.
Let’s hope that someone in a Federal agency outside our borders is monitoring what goes on in Gilmer to give just cause to swarm in on behalf of honorable citizens desperately needful of rescue.

Jimmy, or just sometimes referred to as Touch Fealy to his friends has been a Government Relations Consultant with the Law Office of Philip A. Reale since May of 2004 down by that Crooked River!!
Formerly the youngest member elected to the 71st West Virginia Legislature, Fealy has many longstanding relationships with legislators and staffers that he has continuously fostered since his days in the House of Delegates.
“The last thing I remember was going to the bathroom, but I guess things got a little out of hand!” Lexy later lamented!
He has a keen understanding of the legislative process as he has seen it from the inside.
Touchy Fealy previously served as Executive Director of the Gilmer County Economic Development Association, a post he held for ten years. During his tenure with GCEDA, Fealy was instrumental in luring the Federal Bureau of Prisons to construct a $145 million medium-security prison employing nearly 300 people. Fealy helped the County secure nearly 14 million in grants for the infrastructure improvements needed to make the project a reality.
What a guy! Phil forgot to mention Jim’s past history in Weston and his cousin Mayor John Tucci but I think we get the picture. The Morris clan donated the land for the savior of us all’ Federal Prison land and coordinated any grants that funded the construction via political influence in return. All Fealy had to do was sit back, take the money and the credit.
The man didn’t even take the time to manage his own secretary (which he just had to have) as he was never in the free rent office which couldn’t even afford to fix a copier as there was never enough money for anyone but him. Appointed by the GilmerCounty Commission who created the Industrial Development Association to represent them in economic development, he left when he couldn’t get a raise with full time benefits and ran to his buddy in Charleston as quickly as he could. Oddly enough when he left, none of the records could be found, none according to Larry Chapman, Reta Kight , Pounds and Ratliff.
Yes, Jim had “Seen it from the inside!” … With Dennis Pounds as Chairman, Tom Ratliff as Secretary, and Sandy Petit as Treasurer!..Oh Oh how it haunts me now! … the memory of Touchy Fealy, oh indeed the haunting memory!

That didn’t last long as the poor thing spent so much time on her marital problems, Larry Chapman and her boyfriend while trying to get a paycheck the writing was on the wall for GCEDA but Chapman just had to have her. She got out with about $32,000 all told. Pounds left the Board and Ratliff became President. They did end the year with some cash thanks to the Commission paying all of their bills to make it happen. When she left, there were no records to be found. Possibly because nothing was done. She threatened to sue cause they never gave her the promised title and pay with being the Director but they smoothed that over PDQ.
Lexy Butcher demonstrated that sometimes having fun when the Butcher Bitches Break Bad hurts!!”Cocaine don’t make me crazy, but that good shit sure hurts my nose, it is like 1000 knives of pink flake glass & then, I don’t feel anything at all, not even my face!”
Then they used a secretary to keep the office open for a few months but there isn’t even a recorded salary paid to her on the 990 report. Who wrote the paycheck and once again where are the records but that’s not the end. They brought on H & R Blocks Anna James as Treasurer, hired Christine Dilworth who got about $12,058 by the end of 2007, $6,250 in 2008 and then they sent Ratliff to fire her. Once again, they say there were no records left in the office. Dilworth threatened to sue so they put her on the FRN Board and gave her a reference. Here, again, it was discovered by a Charleston study that the GCEDA had not properly registered with the state for their charitable status as a non-profit for the purpose of getting the grants they used to sustain that office payroll. That’s all they ever sustained.
You see it is all about MONEY in the elite pockets and fuck all of us and the community see’s no benefit, and that is suppose to be the whole reason for having the organization in the first place, so the public and community can see a benefit, but all we ever see is BULLSHIT!!
These people are some dirty rotten son’s of bitches and we have to quit being so nice about letting them get away with all this shit!
These Crooks from Crooked County that live down by the Crooked River count on the general population to be stupid hillbillies while they steal us all blind!

That did it, the office was moved down to H & R Block on Main Street for Anna to run yet another small Boards money with no need for accountability, moved the board meetings which used to be in the Commission room at the Courthouse with free lunch for all and totally got away from any public scrutiny, took the free lunch to the Best Western where Board President Chapman is an investor. Kight (who used to work for Anna) was gone, Chapman became best friend and overseer and the next thing you know he’s the full time paid Director of GCEDA. Chapman follows in Touchy Fealy’s footsteps, that’s a nightmare. Next thing we know Darrell Ramsey says guess what, the GCEDA no longer represents us? Really, now that’s a bright move sunshine. But maybe it is since it takes control of that organization away with no chance at scrutiny. The Commission no longer hires the Director and our great Commissioners see no problem with that. It was all coordinated, believe it. The last public audit was done in 2004!
WHAT? That’s right, take a clue from the Butcher and Butcher law firm, just make no reply to inquiries of accounting’s and get some midget dishonest as fuck judge like Facemire on the payroll and just do it the Crooked County way!
No Response, no reply and don’t have to explain a reason why!
The GCEDA was audited as a compenent unit of the Gilmer CountyCommission.
When did that status change? Ask your Commissioner and lets hope that particular commissioner hasn’t run out of K Y for nobody wants to squeal like a PIG!

(07/21/2011)A Gilmer County man is facing several charges after running from police on his four-wheeler with a 4-year old child on the vehicle.
Kevin Curry, 22, is facing at least one felony charge of child neglect.
Central Regional Jail says Curry has also been charged with obstructing an officer, reckless driving and for being a prohibited driver on an ATV.
Bail has been set at $100,000.
Police responded when Curry was reportedly riding his four wheeler improperly.
When police tried to pull him over, Curry ran with his girlfriend and her four-year-old child on the four wheeler.
The child was not wearing a helmet.
Editors note: Somehow the 100k bail does not seem to make sense when the bail for rape is FOUR TIMES LESS – But, then the “Victim” was following the Barr rule

Larry Chapman is the dude that set himself up with an appointed position on the GCED with the help of Power Elite minion Tampon Tashua Mayor of the County seat of Crooked County, and then was able to get his girlfriend who is 30 years younger than him a job in the Gilmer County Schools.
Of course I hope everyone took note that Sandy Pettit was treasurer of this little local mob, put together to service themselves and just fuck all of us! Who would question anything with little miss priss Pettit, the chick that handled all of the personal business for IKE MORRIS. Yeah, had a pretty close watch on the GCEDA then, and it was like having a finger on the trigger of the GCEDA gun or maybe it was IKE that has his finger on the trigger of Sandy Pettit. Pettit good, is what Ike did. I mean really who would question anything with Pettit in there and her trigger getting stroked with all that extra cash and a house paid for by Ike and oh it is so nice to be apart of the place where the elite meet.

(07/22/2011 Over 300 marijuana plants confiscated after flyovers in Calhoun Thursday, according to a report in the Hur Herald!
The West Virginia State Police’s marijuana eradication program netted over 300 more plants Thursday in the general area where 1,300 plants were found earlier in the week.
Sgt. O. S. Starsick said 244 plants were discovered in a wooded area across the road from Tuesday’s large discovery on Little Creek Road, which he said had a street value of $2,600,000.
A National Guard chopper spotted several grow areas in the Little Creek and Richardsonville Road area Thursday, an area where Calhoun, Wirt and Roane County converge.
“We believe Thursday’s patches are linked to the large grow operation eradicated on Tuesday,” said Sgt. Starsick, likely the largest marijuana crop eradicated in Calhoun history.
Police arrested Douglas Cecil Lynch, 38, of Creston and Nicholas W. Davis, 49, of Big Bend, charging them with manufacturing a controlled substance and conspiring to manufacture a controlled substance.
Officers said the two subjects were caught planting more plants in a remote area off Little Creek Road.
State Police were burning the marijuana Thursday evening. Sgt. Starsick said Thursday the US District Attorney in Clarksburg is looking at bringing a case against individuals involved with an indoor grow operation on Lower Nicut last week.
State Police also discovered plants in the Stinson-Mud Fork area.
Why not do investigative reporting to disclose facts about GCEDA grant money used to purchase land across from the Gilmer industrial park? Who made money on that deal and did Rick Frame benefit? (07/27/2011) A Braxton County man is in Central Regional Jail and a WV State Trooper is recovering, following an incident Monday evening related to the removal of a child from a residence.
John Carroll Sr., 49 of Sutton, has been charged with malicious assault on an officer.
The trooper and a DHHR-CPS worker were trying to remove a child from a home. When they pulled into the driveway, Carroll allegedly drove his truck directly into the trooper’s car.
The trooper was taken to Braxton Memorial Hospital and was reportedly treated for minor injuries.
Carroll was reportedly physically and verbally abusive to several firefighters and other officers at the scene.
He was taken to Central Regional Jail, where he’s being held on a $275,000.00 bond.

The OEPA report called the Gilmer County Board of Education dysfunctional. It referred to a retired person getting hired as principal and half-time attendance director!
Now the so called new functional system hires the very same person as a multi-function director?
Also the very same thing is happening with the counselor at the Career Center. Following his retirement, a position was created for him.
What about addressing the structure of our schools? Where is the emergency as they called it?
What about the shortage of teachers at Troy and Normantown?
Obviously, the sudden take-over of Gilmer County Schools was politically motivated to prevent Dr. Simmons from becoming the Superintendent. Everything else has remained the same.
The board was accused of micro-managing! Should they not? Shouldn’t they question abuse of funds and stop the GCHS principal from hiring her friends? Apparently not!
Our board members were elected by the people and people can decide at election time whether any of them should continue or not. Democracy has failed here because a few influential people bought out the politicians to get their way; shame on them for violating the democratic system and betraying public trust.
At the career center, if both Gilmer and Calhoun already have counselors, why not just drop the position and save money? Why are they creating a new administrative position?

The West Virginia State Police is being ranked second in the nation for the amount of marijuana plants destroyed this year.
Police have made 180 felony arrests and have destroyed more than 420,000 plants, according to Capt. S.R. Dawson of the state police Philippi detachment.
Police eradicated about 1,700 plants in Calhoun and have made multiple arrests. Police destroyed 12,000 plants in Gilmer County.
West Virginia is second to California, which has eradicated more than 1 million plants.
Most of the WV plants were discovered during flyovers, but other times it was linked to tips from the public.
The plants are taken to a central place and lit on fire with fuel and burned.
State Police have not run into any problems this year, but last year they encountered a crop protected by booby traps. A marijuana grower had placed a stick of dynamite near a tree that would explode if triggered by a trip wire.
In another case last year, a grower who was protecting his crops fired a gun at a police helicopter.
The figures sound great but the facts reveal a different take on these giant busts we never hear anything about. It’s a shame that the wild hemp is not made a job producing, revenue generating crop.
The irony, of course, is that industrial hemp is grown legally throughout most the Western world as a commercial crop for its fiber content, yet the US government is spending taxpayers’ money to target and eradicate this same agricultural commodity.
According to a 2005 Congressional Research Service report, “The United States is the only developed nation in which industrial hemp is not an established crop.
Washington, DC: More than 98 percent of all of the marijuana plants seized by law enforcement in the United States is feral hemp not cultivated cannabis, according to newly released data by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Domestic Cannabis Eradication/Suppression Program and the Sourcebook of Criminal Justice Statistics.
“Ditchweed,” a term the agency uses to define “wild, scattered marijuana plants [with] no evidence of planting, fertilizing, or tending.” Unlike cultivated marijuana, feral hemp contains virtually no detectable levels of THC, the psychoactive component in cannabis, and does not contribute to the black market marijuana trade.
Previous DEA reports have indicated that between 98 and 99 percent of all the marijuana plants eradicated by US law enforcement is ditchweed.

S., son of David & Sally McCauley Linscott had a nice visit talking about Deever’s Fork and noting that he is a regular reader of the Creston News. While there the dentist was seen with a comely young lass who very much looked up to him.
Buck Rose’s daughter Lorraine Cremains, who now lives in Ohio, is a physical therapist at the hospital there. She was tickled to see folks from the “home country”.
The Creston Area Neighborhood Watch had a litter pickup on Saturday, May 3 with 11 workers. Among the items found were the part of Donna Sue Ferrell’s chariot that was knocked off during an ‘altercation’ with Bambi, a pocket knife, floor tiles, a Suzuki owner’s manual and a douche bag.
Connie Boggs has a new [to her] Honda so that she can deliver the mail with certainty without worry of breakdowns.
Wirt County Commissioner Robert Lowe, wife & comely daughter were attending to business in Creston Saturday evening.
The Wirt Oil & Gas Group is going to have an important meeting on Saturday, May 17th at the high school auditorium.
Missy Ferrell & friend Angel were visiting Mr. & Mrs. Carl Ferrell and family.
Jim & Barbara Bush were calling in Creston. Jim noted that he was able to get the bad pothole on Tom’s Run (CR 9) [near where the tinhorn is collapsing] patched after the county told him no and the district said that they only worked on primary roads & that, who was he, a former state road worker, to be asking for road work. Jim said, “You’ll see” and he contacted Shelly Moore Capito and two days later the hole was filled with cold mix. Jim now hopes that Roane County will repair the section of road from the intersection of the Lower Barnes Run road and the Wirt County line. Lots of people cross the road daily going to work, doctor’s appointments, shopping, etc.
The Wirt road crew worked up the wildflower beds at Creston, Elizabeth hill and no doubt elsewhere. It was reported that the tractor with the tiller got hung in wet ground and had to be extricated.
The big pole saw is working at the head of Beaver Dam. The tree trimming crew has been clearing electric rights-of-way in the area now for months.
The Calhoun road crew has been patching Route 5 at the base of the Annamoriah hill.
Some folks were having a great time running their radio controlled cars at the Creston Community Building.
A section of the road bank on the Blankenship hill is covered with wild iris (flags) that are now in their prime and other sections are covered with bluets. A large amount of farmland now has almost solid stands of the government introduced autumn olive, a noxious pest. Also solid stands of Japanese stilt grass is up and growing.
Euell Russell was real proud of the certificate he received from participating in the Geriatic Olympics Down at the Mouth of the Elk. Brother Charles was calling upon him, Ray Gumm & Mr. & Mrs. Parris Parsons.
The bedbug infestation down at the county seat made the news in Parkersburg, One would hope that the public health folks would intercede to contain the pestilence.
Folks need to remember that the primary election is Tuesday, May 13. Two key races will be settled then in Calhoun County and, one would hope, anti common core school board members will also be elected then. The ads on the tee vee promoting the program do not pass the smell test — sorta like “it was caused by a video”.
Chesapeake reported that they sold natural gas produced in February for $13.29/mcf. Locally gas sold fetched between $5.44 to $6.17/mcf. It is obvious that “some folks children eat better vegetables.”
Local Pennsylvania crude fetched $99.26/bbl. with Appalachian Light Sweet (drip) fetching $77.63, Marcellus & Utica light $89.02 and medium $98.26/bbl.
A Cabot spokesperson noted that the rig would be on their Wood County Utica location on July 1 and that another location was planned for Kanawha County. Cabot is actively trying to get leases in Putnam on the cheap while HG is working on acquiring more acreage in Lincoln County.
Bob Beatty of CNG noted that the Marcellus has as much as 516 trillion cubic feet of natural gas (recoverable) which likely makes it the second largest energy source on the planet. Some local folks have problems “getting their arms around the fact that the most valuable oil and gas plays in the world are here and the “big boys” want to get them for nothing and are trying to get the W. Va. Legislature to help them with forced pooling. The same fellows pay 50% where the natives wear gowns and have “towels wrapped around their heads” and in Texas they pay 25% and large bonuses.

Deputy Wheeler of the Gilmer County Sheriffs office has shown that he has actively covered up a murder, and has gone to great lengths to protect the name of the HOSPICE NURSE that never administered any drugs. The nurse only identified so far as Debbie has yet to be named, but is a WITNESS to murder. Her identity is being sought, so she can be questioned, and questioned about the criminal activities involving the Gilmer County Sheriff’s office involving this case.
The medical board investigation of Hillary Miller a local doctor was a COMPLETE SHAM and will be exposed as such as the entire matter will be pitched as a national and regional news story.
Holly Beth White, age 22, of Mathias, WV, a woman connected to several Calhoun families, passed away on April 27, 2014 at a Winchester Virginia Medical Center, suffering sudden death from a pulmonary embolism.
A Pulmonary embolism or PE, is a sudden blockage in a lung artery. The blockage usually is caused by a blood clot that travels to the lung from a vein in the leg.
Holly White was daughter of Gerald and Jennifer (Umstead) White of Mathias WV.
Holly’s father is Jerry White from Linn WV, his parents formerly owned White’s Insurance Agency in Linn. Holly’s mother is Jennifer Umstead White, originally from Calhoun. Jennifer’s mother is Mary Umstead of Mathias, a former teacher at Calhoun High School. Jennifer’s father was David Umstead, who owned an insurance company in Calhoun.
Holly was working for Con Mat Group as a receptionist when she died.
Holly graduated Magna cum Laude from Fairmont State with a BA degree in secondary education, and was set to be married in a few months.

Gilmer County Prosecutor told the Coalition he could not check into the constitutional legality of the state removing the powers of elected officials because he might have to represent a Board that did not even have the authority to hire him. He took the political cowards way out just like Mingos. Our state superintendent bragged he had our board majority and it seems so because not one letter protesting the treatment of Gilmer County Schools have come from that leaderships direction for three years.
When this four year state contract goes for Mr. Blankenship’s replacement we enter a seven year sentence under intervention. We have no clue how many new Teachers are on waiver with no certification.

How can this happen? Authorities allow the sale and want to arrest the users? It does not make any sense. Seller is on the winning side here. The user loses his money, gets arrested, becomes an addict and dies. Is this justice? This is like watching them fall in the hole and try to take credit for it.

The prosecutor and law enforcement follow orders from the POWERS THAT BE, as they do in third world countries, not AMERICA. When you are in Gilmer County you might as well be in a third world country and NOT AMERICA.

This group was recently recognized by two retired FBI agents questioned by Ohio law enforcement regarding wrongdoing by public officials in Glenville and wrongdoing by elected members of the Gilmer County Courthouse. IT DOES exist, and a local oil company owner runs that show and has influence over all law enforcement in this part of the state to a degree, that some people here, REALLY ARE ABOVE the LAW!!
Good point made about the synthetic marijuana. There is nothing good about it. If there is nothing good about it, then it will thrive in Glenville and the situation will be let alone by the police. Nor ordinance or actual laws, especially rape and murder mean ANYTHING in Gilmer County.

Since the 1990s the Hur Herald has hot-tracked the coming of high-speed broadband to the rural areas of West Virginia.
It has been a travesty of promises, mostly broken.
Nonetheless, “high speed” customers pay the top dollar for service they are not getting.
The Mountain State “broadband” in most rural areas is cobbled service, but customers are now use to the service, they settle for whatever they can get.
Following numerous federal initiatives, much of America remains behind the developed countries in getting real broadband.
West Virginia, according to most studies, remains at or near the bottom with access and real broadband speeds.

CHARLESTON —Former state Supreme Court Justice Elliott “Spike” Maynard has died. He was 71. Sunday, May 4, was the day of the funeral.
Maynard, who also was a prosecutor and circuit judge in Mingo County, one of the most corrupt county governments in the history of West Virginia had been in Charleston Area Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit since early April.
“One could only hope he died a painful horrible death for all the misery he brought the state of West Virginia while a Supreme Court Justice,” said a disgruntled high ranking member of the Central West Virginia Council of Concerned Citizens.
A Democrat for most of his life, Maynard served as a state Supreme Court justice from 1996 to 2008. After his unsuccessful re-election bid in 2008, in which photos were discovered and published having to do with a certain blond, drinking and being bribed by a dude named Blankenship that ran Massey Coal, the conservative Maynard switched to the Republican Party to run against Rep. Nick Rahall in the 3rd District House seat. He lost that race as well and deservedly so, Maynard was a piece of shit West Virginia CROOK from the get go.
“I’m incredibly sad to learn of the passing of Justice Maynard,” said Conrad Lucas, chairman of the state Republican Party. “Spike was a true West Virginian, a brilliant legal mind and a champion of the conservative cause. Gag me with a fucking spoon, Conrad is an old fuck that has lost his mind and is a raging alcoholic.
Maynard was born and grew up in Williamson. He joined the Air Force, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida Southern College in 1967. He earned his law degree from West Virginia University in 1974 and did nothing but disrespect the laws of the United States and abuse West Virginia laws since the mid 70′s.
He was a private attorney and soon was elected Mingo County’s prosecuting attorney. In 1981, then-Gov. Jay Rockefeller appointed Maynard to serve as circuit judge in Mingo County, a position he ABUSED with MALICE until he was elected to the Supreme Court in 1996.
A press release from the state Supreme Court regarding Maynard’s death cited “his piercing gaze, quick wit, folksy anecdotes, and biting writing style that could cut to the core of an argument.”
But, the people like to site all the corruption “SPIKE” was involved in and his ability to be a dishonest son of a bitch.
Supreme Court Chief Justice Robin Jean Davis said, “I’m devastated at the loss of one of the best friends I’ll ever have. His charm and wit, his grace and kindness, his wisdom and insight – life just won’t be the same.” But, then look who said it, Justice Davis is just as corrupt as “SPIKE” ever was and just as dishonest as spike too — and prefers to date black men.
Justice Brent D. Benjamin, who took a 3.5 million dollar pay off from Massey Coal that eventually reversed his decision in US Supreme said, “Justice Spike Maynard practiced law, served the people of Mingo County as both a prosecutor and circuit judge, and served West Virginia as both a Justice and Chief Justice on our Supreme Court of Appeals. He loved the law. He loved West Virginia. And, with all his heart, he loved Mingo County. In many ways, Spike was larger than life. Yeah, thanks for that report Justice Benjamin since absolutely nobody has ANY respect for you after you were on national news for taking a bribe for your BOUGHT and PAID for decision on the Massey Coal case. Justice Benjamin is nothing more than a well dressed white collar criminal and still serves as a dishonest Supreme Court Justice for the state of West Virginia, but thanks for that report.

We also oppose the “imperial bureaucracy” that imposes unconstitutional administrative decrees in such fields as business, agriculture, labor, and education that tyrannically interfere with personal liberty and dignity, private property, the sanctity of the family, and ethical conduct. We support the abolition of those government agencies at the federal, state, and local levels that have no constitutional foundation, including the U.S. Departments of Education, Housing and Urban Development, Energy, Health and Human Services, and similar agencies. We support the restoration of the constitutionally proper balance among the three branches of the federal government and the reduction of their powers, size, personnel, and costs to the limits intended by the Constitution.

We support welfare programs that seek to return recipients of welfare to productive work as soon as possible. We oppose all welfare for immigrants, whether legal or illegal.
(8) Cultural, national, and racial integrity. We support the cultural and national heritage of the United States and the race and civilization of which it is a part, as well as the expression and celebration of the legitimate subcultures and ethnic and regional identities of our people. We oppose all efforts to discredit, “debunk,” denigrate, ridicule, subvert, or express disrespect for that heritage. We believe public monuments and symbols should reflect the real heritage of our people, and not a politically convenient, inaccurate, insulting, or fictitious heritage.
(9) A Strong National Defense. We believe in the strongest possible defense for the United States.We oppose the presence of homosexuals and women in the military services and especially of women in combat roles.
(10) America First Foreign Policy. We believe that in the aftermath of the U.S. victory over Soviet Communism, the United States has little need to retain the political and military commitments to allies made during the Cold War. While we wish these allies well, we believe we cannot continue to support their defense budgets, guarantee their security, fight their wars, or finance their governments and economies through foreign aid. We therefore call for a comprehensive review of all U.S. diplomatic commitments and U.S. withdrawal from those alliances and commitments that no longer serve our national interests or that threaten to entangle us in unnecessary foreign wars, conflicts, and quarrels. We therefore oppose continued membership in NATO and similar outdated Cold War alliances; we oppose sending American troops on U.N. peace-keeping missions or into similar unconstitutionally undeclared wars under the names of “police actions.” We oppose sending American military personnel into wars and conflicts that do not concern our national security and interests. We oppose ever sending American military men into combat without the intention to achieve victory. We oppose using American prisoners of war as diplomatic “bargaining chips” under any circumstances, and we oppose abandoning American POWs to merciless enemies after the cessation of conflict to suit the political interests of office-holders. We oppose all foreign aid and call for its termination. We support the investigation of lobbying groups that represent the interests of foreign states or foreign powers and the enactment of legislation that will outlaw lobbying Congress or the executive branch on behalf of foreign states.
(11) America First Trade Policy. We believe that just as our nation has legitimate international political and military interests, so it also has a legitimate international economic interest.We believe our trade policy should reflect our national economic interest and that the protection of our economy, including the jobs of our workers, our farms, and our manufacturing industries, is a vitally necessary duty of our national government.
(12) Traditional Education under Local Control. We believe that education is primarily the concern of parents and families and local communities and therefore we oppose federal aid to education and federal efforts to control or direct education. We believe that education should inform and build the mind and character, not brainwash children with political propaganda or “liberate” them from the traditional values and loyalties their families have taught them. We therefore oppose all “sex education” as well as so-called “multiculturalist” and “Afrocentric” curricula, “Outcome-Based Education,” and similar radical indoctrination in the schools. We oppose all efforts to inflate grades, adulterate or “dumb down” tests and examinations, and introduce irrelevant and wasteful courses for the purpose of advancing some backward students over others more talented or more productive. We believe the schools, public, private, and parochial, should teach students to be proud of being Americans and proud of their national and local identities, and that they should instill in them the values of Western, Christian, and American civilization. We support the authority of teachers and school administrators to discipline students, including the authority to expel them from school if students will not abide by the rules and laws of the community. We support the right of parents to send their children to private schools or to educate their children at home if they so desire, without government intrusion or control. We support the right of private schools to select their own students, faculty, curricula, standards, and methods of administration.
(13) Strong and Just Law Enforcement. We believe in the moral and legal responsibility of the individual and therefore that good behavior should be rewarded and bad behavior should be punished. We believe the most effective and most just response to crime is swift, certain, and morally appropriate punishment. We believe in capital punishment for the crimes of murder, rape, treason, and espionage. We oppose the substitution of the pseudo-sciences of psychiatry, sociology, and “rehabilitation” for real justice. We believe law enforcement should be mainly a function of local and state government, and we therefore oppose all efforts to establish a national police force or to nationalize law enforcement; we oppose similar efforts to create a global or international police force and to “globalize” law enforcement. We oppose the extradition of law-abiding American citizens to trials before foreign courts under laws to which they have never assented. We oppose all international criminal tribunals and all efforts to diminish national sovereignty through the internationalization of criminal law. While we support and deeply respect all law enforcement officers, we also insist that law enforcement at all levels operate within the law, that law enforcement respect the rights of all citizens, and that spying on and harassment of loyal and law-abiding citizens by law enforcement agencies, by the military services, or by intelligence services at any level of government should be strictly forbidden and severely punished.
(14) Protection of the Environment and Natural Heritage. We believe that the natural environment and resources of a nation are among its most precious, valuable, and irreplaceable treasures. We believe in the protection of the environment from reckless greed as well as from irresponsible government. We support the protection of truly endangered species of wildlife and areas of natural beauty.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. — Two people were taken to the hospital after a crash early Saturday morning in Sissonville.
The crash happened around 2am this morning on Wolf Pen Drive. Dispatchers say a pick-up truck rolled over, ejecting two people.
Both were taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the single vehicle crash.
No further information is available at this time.

State Police in Braxton County arrested James Maciak, 27, of Napier, after they were called to a report of a person claiming to be God had broken into a home and stole a vehicle near Flatwoods.
Police say when they approached Maciak he told them that he was God and ordered a trooper to give him his vehicle. Following a disturbance, Maciak was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Resident Lance Larone said Maciak had entered his residence without permission, Maciak taking the man’s cell phone.
Maciak was in a black Chevrolet SUV, which was later discovered to have belonged to Timothy Meadows.
Police later took a statement from Meadows saying that Maciak had broken into his home by kicking in the front door, and started beating him while he was asleep in bed, and that Maciak grabbed a pistol belonging to Meadows and pointed it at him.
Meadows then wrestled the gun away, and after doing so, Maciak reached for a rifle and pointed it at Meadows and demanded his vehicle, and then stole his cell phone and $50, which were also found in Maciak’s possession.
A statement was taken from a third victim, Raymond Teter, saying Maciak had attempted to force his way into his residence, and stole a Mercury vehicle belonging to Stacey Robinson.
Maciak has been charged with armed robbery, grand larceny, and nighttime burglary, and is being held in the Central Regional Jail.
A lay speaker from the Gideons brought the message at the Burning Springs M. E. Church, Pauline Brumfield sang some special songs.
A big crowd was on hand for Col. Dobbins’ auction at the Creston Community Building. There was a rainbow during the sale.

Antero announced that the firm is planning on installing a large H2S (hydrogen sulfide) line on the right-of-way where they are installing the 24″ water line that runs from the Ohio River to Doddridge & Harrison Counties. H2S or “rotten egg gas” occurs in deeper formations and must be removed from the natural gas stream. It was reported that a tract was purchased from the Maxwell heirs for $1 million for a facility which some thought was another fractionation plant. H2S has many industrial uses, including making tee vee screens. One might wonder if royalties are to be paid on “the waste product”? Some years back the poison gas was encountered in wells being drilled in Roane County and two crews had a close scrape with death. On Ann’s Run at Creston “big stinky” was a Newburg well drilled on the RP&N lease.
Various state agencies are working up guidelines for the water and tank bill that the legislators down at the Mouth of the Elk passed that they were not allowed to read. DuPont said that if they were forced to comply they would have to shut down and leave the state. The impact on agriculture, timbering and oil and gas operations presently remains in doubt.
The West Virginia Farm Bureau is holding meetings about the proposed new EPA rules concerning the grab of power over lawns, gardens, golf courses, hillsides, ditches, ponds, potholes, etc. One Ritchie County resident who attended the national Farm Bureau meeting in San Antonio said that the big eared one’s Agriculture Commissioner Vilsak said, “Nothing to worry about!”. However, the proposed rules are not in agreement with his verbal statements. Recently EPA told a farmer in Wetzel County to take out his farm pond and restore the property to the original contours “or else”.
The EPA also has new rules for wood stoves and some wonder if they are going to go after old stoves that do not have the “anti-pollution” devices, fireplaces and camp fires. Some years back some government busybodies went after those folks who had the audacity to heat and cook with coal. Now it is rare to smell coal smoke even in coal mining communities. Soon it will be rare to find a coal fired power plant, except in India and China.

This writer remembers many years ago when the VA flat out refused treatment for a World War I veteran because “he was not one of their regulars.” It made no difference that he had served honorably and had been, for his entire life, an upstanding, tax paying citizen. The students and staff at Gilmer County High School had to evacuate the school for what was thought to be a fire drill right before Noon this Morning.
Actually the cause of the alarm was the sprinkler system which went off in the Chemistry Lab in the West Wing of the school. Could it possibly have been to cool a certain teacher off from a sex session with another Gilmer County High School student?
Details are sketchy as to what caused the sprinkler system to go off.
But, it might have been a reaction to hose down some wild goings on between teachers and students at the high school, Gilmer County of course being known statewide as the place the teachers and coaches are allowed to have sexual relations with the students and there is no consequence.
Students and staff are back in school, but no one is allowed in the west wing, it could be slippery and there is a chance it STILL smells like ass!
Gilmer County High School is rotten to the core. There is constant bullying and harassment of both students and teachers.
Teachers are bullied by Nasia Butcher the Principal to make grades for certain students.
Students that have very little are ignored and bullied and shit on like Negroes on the plantation.
Most of the bullying comes from the “power elite” students at GCHS, the home of the Special in a place called Crooked County.
The administration does not run the school, the counselors do. They do what they want, when they want even with certain GIRLS of the senior and junior class.
As a parent, my child has told me numerous times he has been made fun of by the “power elite” students. And has told me numerous times about inappropriate behavior by teachers and coaches toward students.
All these students better have all “A’s” or there will be hell to pay.
So many cover-ups with grades and illegal doings at Gilmer County High School it is hard to keep track, and now another year is about over.
Stand up to the “power elite” people because our children are being cheated. Stand up and do your share today to rid our community of the dirty rotten sons of bitches that have all the money in this county, and do what they want regardless of the law.

I personally do not know Mr. Devano but what I have had to deal with the past few weeks with the principle and Mr. Blankenship , I can only hope we get someone in there as quick as possible. Right now it doesn’t matter what happens Mr. Blankenship doesn’t care and allows retaliation , bullying by school officials towards children and the list goes on and on. His comment “she is the principle she can do whatever she wants” No! That is not true and I can only pray he retires quickly and takes a few with him. It’s amazes me because I know most that work for the BOE and you couldn’t ask for better people. The past few weeks I have learned those wonderful people are still wonderful but what happens in this town all depends on how much money you have how are big of a hypocrite you can be. So I say, let’s just hire someone as quick as possible before this behavior allows a child to get hurt.

Mr. Devono heads up RESA 7, which is notably unresponsive to some of the organizations they serve. Complaints have been fruitless. The issue is so bad it’s known state wide. If Mr. Devano is the reason, his term in Gilmer County won’t be good. Let’s hope as the last job before retirement his tenure as GC superintendent is one of progress.
He will be the ultimate decision maker on the new school. If he allows the new school to be built as an all electric facility we’ll know very soon where his real loyalties lie. The architect has made several blunders on the Leading Creek school. Let’s hope Mr. Devano doesn’t rubber stamp the architect’s decisions for Gilmer County.

Isn’t all this a farce when it was announced already that Devono was selected? That is the way it is done for Gilmer County. Big dogs here with money get to the big boys in Charleston. Any guesses who they were? Don’t expect more openness, transparency, seeking out ideas, and above all else setting more of a stage for accountability. It will be business as usual with the County’s sponsored cheer leading squad going full throttle telling us we never had it so good.

Looks like grounds for a corruption complaint to the State Ethics Commission or even higher. That is what the State Board needs to add to its tough spot with the sexual harassment case in Mingo County. A person could not make this up. Perfect material for a prime time TV show. Maybe Marple has a valid case if her treatment was similar to the way this went down.

If anyone thinks this is not a done deal Google WV State Board of Education and find the agenda for the Board’s meeting today and click onto Attachment W. There is even an entry for Devono’s resignation date from RESA 7 on 6/30. If the local board did something half as bad as this it would be declared dysfunctional and in violation of State law. Do not forget that Gayle Manchin who ranted against Gilmer County before the take over is the State Board’s president. Double standards and total disregard for following rules. What do you expect from Charleston? No wonder our public school system is last or close to it in the entire county.

Soon as Gabe arrives we will begin hard questioning about spending at the GCHS associated with electronics equipment including money paid to RESA 7. This has been a touchy subject at the school because of where and to whom the money flows. Nobody talks about it openly, but we suspect waste and we definitely do not get the service needed. Something like this smelly deal by the State Board gives us an opportunity to speak out against something we have waited on for a long time. We doubt that some purchases which have been made with school money can be located!

These are nothing but bunch of scum sucking bureaucrats who are just using our education system for their personal and friends gains at the expense of the children and taxpayers. WV is always at bottom of the list except in their eyes who claim we are the best, we are on the top. Yes, best in corruption. I find it very interesting how these high paying, do nothing douches come from Fairmont area. Mark Manchin, Gayle Manchin, Gabriel Devano, Wade Linger, Ted Matthern to just name a few.

I have have the chance to read about Mr. Devano and you’re correct. I have still learned the hard way and let me tell you, they are going to do whatever they want. I really wish our opinions did matter because these are our children as the educational welfare that is at stake. I have also learned that most sit here and complain because to fight them legally in any sort is costly and they will still do what the want. I can complain to any ethics board or any board for that matter and but they still do what they want.

NASA says a meteorite is likely to blame for a loud boom and ground shake felt across several West Virginia counties.
911 centers in Boone, Lincoln, and Logan counties all received calls from people shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday.
Some of the callers described the incident as a large boom that shook the foundations of their homes.
NASA says a meteorite about the size of a softball entered the atmosphere over West Virginia before landing in Tennessee.

CHARLESTON — A woman incarcerated in the Western Regional Jail is suing jail and correctional officers, claiming sexual assault.
Brittany Guthrie filed a lawsuit April 18 in Kanawha Circuit Court against West Virginia Regional Jail and Correctional Facility Authority and Correctional Officers Matthew Berlin, Kevin Thompson, Cory Harshbarger and Mary Stowers, citing outrageous conduct, violation of plaintiff’s rights and negligence.
Guthrie claims in the suit she was a victim of sexual abuse while incarcerated at the Western Regional Jail by defendants Berlin, Thompson and Harshbarger.
The suit alleges Guthrie was requested to perform oral sex, offered food for sexual favors and was required to perform sexual acts to other inmates while the guards observed.
According to the brief, defendant Stowers was aware of the incidents, but she failed to protect Guthrie from the abuse and failed to punish the offenders.
Guthrie is seeking damages, interest, attorneys fees and court costs.
She is being represented in the case by attorney Paul M. Stroebel of Stroebel and Johnson PLLC.

Is it TRUE what has been said about GERALD B HOUGH having SEX with an underage teenage girl? Even Tara Kennedy said something about it in a Gilmer County courtroom according to eye witnesses, but this was awhile back before she was forced to leave her probation officer job in disgrace for prior misconduct and a serious complaint that was filed with the WVSC.

The Lewis County Commission would have to be out of their minds to take on a liability like Gerald B Hough who has paid people to LIE on the witness stand and brought false evidence forward, and “THOSE FACTS” can be proven beyond ANY shadow of a doubt. A big crowd was on hand Saturday afternoon in Elizabeth for the Wirt Oil & Gas Group meeting. Progress was made in the forward direction. One woman came from Vero Beach Florida for the meeting and another came from Duluth Minnesota. Others came from far & near.
Rev. Keith Belt filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church.
The Calhoun road crew has been patching Route 5 between the Creston & Annamoriah Flats. They even tried to fix the spot where water comes up in the road near the road going to Dean Miller’s log yard. The Wirt crew mowed the berms on Route 5 and is now patching in the Burning Springs neighborhood. Apparently there is special money for patching. It was learned that county residents are now required to purchase the stone/gravel that is to be applied to “their road”. Such had been ‘routine’ in Wood County but it had been decades since such was the case locally.
Michael Starcher the headman for Enlink at Brooksville was attending to business in Creston one day last week. Enlink operates the old Eureka oil pump station [upgraded of course] near the mouth of Stocking Run.
Nancy Engelke was consulting with her physician and received a good report.
The local area had rain and local streams rose although there was no significant flooding.
Charles Russell was calling on Mr. & Mrs. Parris Parsons, Ray Gumm and brother Euell. Ray noted that his “clothes had shrunk” and that he had to have his wife buy him some bigger sizes.
Because of the cold winter and insect damage last year, it would appear that finding locust blossoms this year will be quite a task. Deep fried locust blossoms will likely have to wait until next year.
Some voters in the Burning Springs/Creston precinct didn’t get to vote because they didn’t know that the voting station had been moved from the Burning Springs Community Building to the Creston Community Building. When the list of voting places was in the Elizabeth paper the local voting place wasn’t mentioned at all and the sample ballots in the paper had candidates on different tickets. Roy Copen was listed as a Republican and Bob Gunnoe was listed as Democrat. Also, one of the touch screen voting machines at Creston didn’t work.
The work crew at the Creston Community Building made the old school house shine.
At a recent Wood County Farm Bureau meeting the speaker was an 18 year of son of missionary parents who had lived 14 of his 18 years in Ukraine. He gave a good perspective on the situation there which could well be the beginning of World War III. He noted, that just like in certain local legislatures, delegates could be bought and, just like, a certain recent national election in a nation close to home, bus loads of voters were taken from precinct to precinct & town to town to vote again & again. In a nation whose first name also starts with a “U”, buses hauled “voters” from state to state for early voting, etc.
Some of the invasive black vultures were seen near the Barr Cut just this side of Spencer. One would hope that “Dean Eye Dick” and “Sniper Sam” take care of the problem.
The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude is $101/bbl. with drip fetching $77.80, Marcellus & Utica light $92.50 and medium $100/bbl.
In spite of no warming for the last 17 years and in spite of more that usual ice at & around both poles and in spite of a decrease of hurricanes & tornados, the global warming/climate change promoters and now getting even more shrill and demanding. One of the local urologists noted that under the Big Eared One’s new health care plan tests for prostrate cancer are discouraged which would indicate that the reason for socialized medicine is not better health care but population control. If you are “old” the government wants you dead, especially if you are a veteran as shown by the VA hospital scandal which likely is nationwide.
The Big Eared One’s Department of Agriculture announced that they want to buy a bunch of submachine guns. It had been previously reported that the corn “had been doing a lot of stalking”.
A Ritchie County man is in North Central Regional Jail with multiple charges.
Michael Lee Sharp, 22, has been charged with grand larceny, conspiracy to commit grand larceny, reckless driving, fleeing with reckless indifference, and the violation of a tailpiece.
Hunter Lee Browning, 42, of Clay, is in Central Regional Jail, charged with domestic battery and a felon in possession of a firearm.
Arthur James Little, 56, of Roane County, is in Central Regional Jail, facing battery to an officer or responder and obstructing.
A Gilmer County man, Michael Clifford Casteel, 18, has been incarcerated, charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Braxton authorities have arrested Danny Lee Morgan, 59, and charged him with delivery of a controlled substance, and Charles Scott White, 43, has been charged DUI.
As far as her original arrest, Salwa says she knows it sounds cliche but she was just “at the wrong place at the wrong time.” And what about the “intent to sell” charges? “I’m just a user,” Salwa says, before going on to state that she had nothing to do with selling drugs, and the heroin they found on the scene was not hers. She adds that she has never used heroin.
The interviewer then asked about the death of Shain Gandee, which happened April 1 — just 11 days before the interview in April 2013..
“I was in jail and it just drove me crazy that I couldn’t give my condolences to Loretta and Dale, which are his parents, and attend the funeral,” Salwa says. “I really tried my best to be there and pay my respects, because he was an awesome person.”
Salwa was arrested on February 11, 2013 and charged with drug possession with the intent to sell after being found with two other suspects in a shed along with three packages of heroin and Oxycodone in her purse. Salwa was later released, but had to return to jail on March 27 after failing a mandatory drug test. At the time of the interview she had been behind bars for just over two weeks.

Remember, in January 2001, when Bill and Hillary Clinton finally left the White House with wheelbarrows full of booty and we thought – or hoped, audaciously – that we’d seen the last of those two insatiable sucklings incessantly pawing at the public teat?
That glorious feeling of relief didn’t last long, did it?
It was much the same with Darrell McGraw and his wife Jorea (née Marple).
When old Quick Draw finally got the boot at the ballot box after five terms as state attorney general and Jorea lost her position as state superintendent of schools shortly afterward, we all got that “ah, at last it’s over” sensation and looked forward to savoring it for a long, long time.
As with the Clintons, it was not to be.
Darrell and Jorea seem to think they were meant to hold their positions of public trust in perpetuity – or, at least, the duration of their stay here on earth, i.e., for as long as they both shall live. Termination of their sinecures was a shock to their systems. The $180,000 they receive each year in combined state pensions is not enough. Still, they suffer.
So far, Darrell has maintained a relatively low profile. Not so Jorea.
The bitter if not better half of this professional foraging tag team has to date filed two lawsuits challenging the right of her superiors to determine the length of her employment.
Last year, she sued the State Board of Education for firing her and made a federal case out of it. This year, she dropped the first suit and filed another in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Marple claims she “has suffered an irreparable damage to her name, her reputation, and her ability for future employment.”
Someone needs to explain to the bewildered, belligerent Marple that people often get fired, that very few of them wind up with six-figure pensions, and that most of the damage they suffer is self-inflicted (and reparable).

America’s first slave owner was a black man.

According to colonial records, the first slave owner in the United States was a black man.
Prior to 1655 there were no legal slaves in the colonies, only indentured servants. All masters were required to free their servants after their time was up. Seven years was the limit that an indentured servant could be held. Upon their release they were granted 50 acres of land. This included any Negro purchased from slave traders. Negros were also granted 50 acres upon their release.
Anthony Johnson was a Negro from modern-day Angola. He was brought to the US to work on a tobacco farm in 1619. In 1622 he was almost killed when Powhatan Indians attacked the farm. 52 out of 57 people on the farm perished in the attack. He married a female black servant while working on the farm.
When Anthony was released he was legally recognized as a “free Negro” and ran a successful farm. In 1651 he held 250 acres and five black indentured servants. In 1654, it was time for Anthony to release John Casor, a black indentured servant. Instead Anthony told Casor he was extending his time. Casor left and became employed by the free white man Robert Parker.
Anthony Johnson sued Robert Parker in the Northampton Court in 1654. In 1655, the court ruled that Anthony Johnson could hold John Casor indefinitely. The court gave judicial sanction for blacks to own slave of their own race. Thus Casor became the first permanent slave and Johnson the first slave owner.
Whites still could not legally hold a black servant as an indefinite slave until 1670. In that year, the colonial assembly passed legislation permitting free whites, blacks, and Indians the right to own blacks as slaves.
By 1699, the number of free blacks prompted fears of a “Negro insurrection.” Virginia Colonial ordered the repatriation of freed blacks back to Africa. Many blacks sold themselves to white masters so they would not have to go to Africa. This was the first effort to gently repatriate free blacks back to Africa. The modern nations of Sierra Leone and Liberia both originated as colonies of repatriated former black slaves.
However, black slave owners continued to thrive in the United States.
By 1830 there were 3,775 black families living in the South who owned black slaves. By 1860 there were about 3,000 slaves owned by black households in the city of New Orleans alone.
